Today Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev, the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament, the Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, held a meeting with the Metropolitan of France Emmanuil within the framework of regular ninth Session of the Secretariat of the Congress conducted in Astana.       

Problems of further development of Nursultan Nazarbaev's initiative on establishment and strengthening of interdenominational consent and dialogue between the civilizations were discussed in the process of the meeting.

Having given regards to the address of the Patriarch Bartholomew, the Leader of Constantinopolitan Church, the Speaker thanked the discourser for active participation in work of religious summit.  

According to K.Tokaev's opinion, one of the most significant elements of the Congress is that besides religious figures famous politician also take part in it. 

Today regular ninth Session of the Secretariat of the Congress was opened under the chairmanship of Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev, the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament, the Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, in the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation  in Astana.       

 Preceding the start of forum, Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev expressed his gratitude to the leaders of delegations for continuous and active participation in the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.    

In the Speaker's opinion, it is necessary to promote religious tolerance, develop constructive dialogue and mutual confidence to establish trust-worthy peace on the earth, open the dialogue of the religions.  

"The foundation of every faith should not be distorted and the science of the religion cannot be the instrument of the policy and ideology", the Speaker said.

A wide range of issues related to the role of religious leaders in building a world based on tolerance, mutual respect and cooperation were discussed during the Congress. The work of sessions was devoted to such themes as: «Moral and spiritual values, world ethics», «Dialogue and cooperation», «Solidarity, especially in times of crisis».

All participants expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan and its leader for his efforts to establish a dialogue between followers of different religions and civilizations.

Today the Chairman of the Senate of RK Parliament, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions within the third Inter-Religious Congress held in Astana had a number of bilateral meetings with leaders of delegations, representatives of different confessions and international organizations participating in the work of the Congress.

In the course of the conversations there was noted the large significance and high level of holding of the forum which raised the dialogue of civilizations to a qualitatively new stage of mutual understanding of the cooperation between countries. The participants and guests of the Congress unanimously stated that this interconfessional institute which was created by the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev and became traditional received wide international recognition, occupies worthy position in the world community's efforts on the interreligious dialogue development and is an important contribution of Kazakhstan  to maintenance of peace and stability on the planet.
