Speech of Din Jan Yun, Deputy chairman of the chinese Daocist Association

Dear Chairman,
Dear friends,
I am very glad to take part in so important, impressive meeting in this beautiful capital of the fine country. I am very glad to be here at present and to communicate on different religious themes with my colleagues of different faiths.

The religion is a public social civilization of the humanity and also support to culture and tradition of each state. Therefore by means of respect to religion we respect civilization of humanity. By means of respect to religion we pay attention to harmony and to the development of our society, its calmness and world peace.

There are a lot of religions in China. Dao is the oldest. It respects virtues and propagandizes a peaceful life. As the world is many sided we can reach our common aim through cooperation of all religions, through adjustment of common relations between them. However, some interests of humanity have a uniform platform.

We should be tolerant and amicable to each other and treat each other as relatives. We should withstand all malicious intentions, conflicts. Our virtue Ming Cza said that it is necessary to be together, but at the same time to develop independently. We should respect and love each other. It is a root. Therefore, Daocism emphasizes that relations between people, societies should be based on respect and cooperation. Therefore, all religions have a big force and influence. We should develop wide propagation for peaceful development of our mankind. Through long-term development and existence we can keep our world and originality of our religions. Therefore, Daocism advocates that we should break our rigid traditions and turn to rapprochement and coexistence with each other because if there is no religious consent there is no peace. This is very important for us. Only through joint efforts we can gain those achievements, which would counteract against hegemonies and promote the general development of humanity.

The Chinese people are very much interested in peace. The government of China opposes against using religion as a pretext for conducting certain actions.

The concept "war" and solution of problems by force is alien to us. We, religious figures have very big responsibility, especially we should keep peace, to oppose against violence, as according to Daocism, the concept of nonviolence is one of apostles of keeping the human life and maintaining humanism all over the world.

Daocism is a religion, which pursues the peaceful consent. At the same time Daocism supports common prosperity. The concept of common prosperity should penetrate into all directions of the society. The peace should triumph over the world and there shouldn’t be place for violence and sorrowful life, conflicts and wars and various apocalyptic events. Only through harmonization of all society, through harmonization of the whole world, which is very important for us, we can achieve common prosperity. In this manner the Chinese government pays big attention to a peaceful development of the humanity and establishment of friendship between peoples of various countries.

Daocism says that there is a concept "zici yang" in the West, i.e. prosperity and happiness. There are various forms of ways to achieve happiness. But there is a domestic happiness, happiness of a collective, happiness of the sovereign and happiness of the state. However all this should be reached by a peaceful way and through consensus. Therefore we, representatives of all religions, should support friendship, equality and also deepen our dialogue, conduct mutual exchange of opinions.

We hope that various states and peoples can coexist, jointly overcome difficulties and peacefully create harmony, peace and happiness in the world. We also sincerely believe in it. Thanks.
