All three branches of the modern Judaism are available now in the Republic, which is caused by strengthening of the international relations both with Israel and the USA. Long time coexistence of Muslims and Jews in Kazakhstan serves as the positive example of inter-confessional accord. As tells Israeli paper Jerusalem Post: "Kazakhstan is the only Muslim country in the world where foundations of ten new synagogues were laid over the last three years". At present, synagogues are functioning in the cities of Astana, Alamaty, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Petropavlovsk, Taraz, Temirtau and Shymkent. In August 2001, a new synagogue was opened in Pavlodar. Independent Jewish religious communities are organized almost in all Oblasts of the Republic. The next step in strengthening Judaism was the session of Euro Asian Congress of rabbins, which was held on October 21-22, 2002 in Almaty. Main goals of the Congress were development of rabbinates' strategy for strengthening inter-confessional accord and coordination of activity of religious Jewish communities with reality of the modern world. The Head of the State, Nazarbayev N.A. accepted the members of the Euro Asian Congress of Rabbins. Opening of the largest Central Asian synagogue Beit Rachel - Chabad Lubavitch in Astana was important event of 2004 for Jews of Kazakhstan as well as Jewry over the world.
