The Pope Benedict XVI, leader of Catholic Church, called to peace in the Middle East in the process of traditional sermon at Saint Peter square in Vatican.  

"I call to cease violence, which shall be condemned in its any manifestation and to conclude a truce in Gaza Strip." The pontiff also called to humanity and wisdom all those who "is responsible for the situation."

"I ask international community to do its best to assist Israeli and Palestinian people to resolve the deadlock and resist negative logic of collisions and violence", he added.
