Honorable participants of the Congress!
On behalf of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Armenian people from the Holy of Holies, the Holy First-Throne Echmiadzin we greet you and send our good wishes to the participants of the III Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
As religious leaders and their representatives, you met in order to find new ways of cooperation for further consolidation of the spirit of tolerance and mutual respect in the name of peace throughout the world.
Indeed, spiritual leaders cannot be indifferent to world events that violate the peaceful and prosperous life of mankind. At the dawn of the new millennium, parallel to the global challenges of mankind, poverty, environmental problems, financial and economic crisis the regional conflicts inherited by us from the last century and now acquiring new dimensions still exist.
Each year, thousands of people die during armed conflict in the world. The families are decayed, human dignity and rights of nations are violated. Unresolved conflicts are often accompanied by neglect and destruction of spiritual and cultural values, rousing of religious hatred.
The Armenian people still suffer the bitter consequences of the destruction of cultural heritage now, in the XXI century. Having ancient history and having lived through many hardships and injustices Armenian people know the value of peace, the need and necessity of peaceful coexistence of peoples.
Worried about intolerance, conflicts continuing in various regions of the world, and their unfortunate consequences today various political and social movements throughout the world are making great efforts to establish peace and create a peaceful and bright future of mankind.
In order to fulfill this mission the ministry of spiritual and religious leaders is of great importance, because without the involvement of spiritual values into these processes existing problems and challenges cannot be overcome. Consequently, we are called to reinforce our peace-support mission, in order to facilitate the implementation of universal programs aimed to sustainable development, peaceful and equitable solution of the existing problems in order to build more comfortable world for mankind.
The Armenian Apostolic Church welcomes all the efforts of religious leaders which, for the benefit of the peaceful life of mankind, aimed at establishing harmony and friendship between the representatives of different religions and based on mutual tolerance and genuine respect.
As for the convocation of the III Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions We send our greetings to Dear President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Kazakh people, wishing many years of good health, prosperity and new achievements.
We ask the God Almighty to preserve in the shadow of His Hand our countries, peoples, their leaders and the spiritual in peace and inviolability, giving strength of power and grace to all of you in gaining new achievements in your devotional service.
Good work to the Congress!”
