     Today Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Kassymzhomart Tokayev met with Metropolitan of Astana and Almaty, Archbishop Alexander.
     The two sides noted with satisfaction the successful development of Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership, constructive relationship of the the Kazakhstan Government with leaders of religious communities and above all with representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church.
     They discussed the questions of preparation for the next IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions forthcoming in 2012, which, according to the Head of the Secretariat of the Forum, “turned into a permanent platform for dialogue, giving the opportunity of the free exchange of views on topical issues of our time to the religious leaders”.
     “Fruitful cooperation between the Congress and the Russian Orthodox Church is an important link in our work together on further promotion of inter-civilizational and intercultural values and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Russia,” said K. Tokayev and expressed his hope for the active participation of representatives of the ROC in the coming Forum.
     Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan invited the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Kirill take part in the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
