The holiday is directly linked with the ideas of spiritual perfection and good deeds. It is usually celebrated by good deeds, taking care of neighbours and compassion to the needy.
Four days before the holiday a thorough cleaning at home, court rooms, sheds, clean of animals begin. After cleaning, all the family members should bathe, put on clean clothes and fix up. In the evening the hostess cooks traditional Oriental dishes. Children carry them to their relatives; there is a mutual exchange of treats. This custom is called “there must be a smell of food in the house”.
Before the holiday they try to purchase foods and gifts, decorate and upgrade their homes. New curtains, bedspreads for furniture, festive clothing is bought. In advance money is collected for charity to the poor so that after receiving it they could also prepare for the celebration. Before the holiday people must forgive each other insults, try to visit their relatives and friends and ask them for forgiveness. On the first day of the holiday common prayers in the mosque are made. And then the Imam declares to believers that the fasting is really over. But before that every Muslim should pay a special charity Sadakat-ul-Fitr. This is the final step for taking the perfect fasting by Almighty. It is obligatory for every Muslim, obtaining the property in excess of his basic needs.      A Muslim tradition says that giving charity was devised by the Prophet himself, saying: “Fasting of Ramadan is hanging between heaven and earth, until God’s servant will not give his due charity”. The head of the family pays this charity for himself, spouse, children, and servants, if there are any.
