“On behalf of the government of Kazakhstan I would like to officially announce the date of the forum: June 7-9, 2011” – Issekeshev said at the press conference in the Kazakh capital. He explained that traditions of “Islamic Davos”, as the World Islamic Economic Forum is called, require a formal announcement of its date and venue by the host government. “We hope that the forum will contribute to expansion of relations of Kazakhstan with the countries of the Islamic world” – Vice Prime Minister – the head of the MINT RK said.
The World Islamic Economic Forum will be held in the Central Asian country for the first time. The subject of the Astana Forum is “Globalisation: interrelation, competition and co-operation for mobilization of Muslim and non-Muslim countries to greater economic independence through open channels of mutual relations and multilateral strategic cooperation”. Within the framework of the Seventh Forum several sessions will be organized. At the sessions it is planned to discuss development of Islamic banking in Kazakhstan, development of the country’s industry “halal”, small and medium-sized business, as well as alternative energy sources.
