 Working Session 1. The Role of Religious Leaders in Achieving Sustainable Development.

 The role of religious leaders in the contemporary time of history’s progress is extremely important. Thanks to their personal authority and personal efforts in the community, peace and harmony is achieved among the people, progressive and sustainable development of civilization is provided. The following will be discussed during the section: the role of religious leaders in history; the mission of religious leaders in achieving sustainable development of humankind and building inter-religious dialogue and reconciliation; the importance of the role of religious leaders as a cohesive thread to the people; cooperation between religious leaders and political figures, the activity of religious leaders in contemporary challenges of a globalizing world; the responsibility of religious leaders for peace and harmony on Earth.

           Working Session 2. Religion and Multiculturalism
          Problems of multicultural existence and dialogue are extremely acute in the modern world taking into the so called crisis of multiculturalism in Europe. Consequently, the following issues would be raised at the session: the self-identification and development of peoples, cultures and religions; ethnic and cultural diversity and national unity, the ideology of multiculturalism; the phenomenon of multiculturalism as an aspect of tolerance and development policy, maintaining cultural differences, etc.

         

          Working Session 3. Religion and the Woman: Spiritual Values and Contemporary Challenges
          This sub-theme subject was recommended by participants of the Third Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The following issues will be discussed at the Fourth Congress: the role of women in the family and society; the rights of women in the context of universal spiritual values; women’s responsibility for the future of the nation and of the planet; the role of women and women’s organizations in intercultural and interreligious dialogue.

 

          Working Session 4. Religion and the Youth
          The following issues will be discussed: the values and needs of youth; the rights of young people in the context of universal spiritual values; the  attitude/participation of young people in new religious movements; the role of   religion in the development of spiritual culture of young people, etc.
