Birth Date:  2 September 1954

Birth Place:   Laknau (Uttar Pradesh State, India)

Education:    He has the bachelor's degree in specialty "teacher of hadithes" and the Master of Philological Sciences of the "Nadvatul Ulama" University (Laknau, India).

He has the diploma of the Arabic language and literature, Er-Riad University (Saudi Arabia).

Activity:       

From 1979 to 1984 he dealt with the public and scientific activity at the "Nadvatul Ulama" University;

In 1984    he was elected as the president of the youth Islamic organization "Jamaat-i-Shabab-e-Islam";

From 1988     Teacher of Shariah in "Nadvatul Ulama";

From 1989   Dean of the Faculty for Shariah Studies at the "Nadvatul Ulama" University;

From 2000   Head of the Subdivision of Educational Institutions "Indian Committee on Protection of Moslems' Rights"

He is the member of the Religious Education Council in Uttar-Pradesh State, as well as co-chairman, advisor in many Islamic educational centres in India and abroad.

S.Nadvi is the editor and co-editor of thirteen different periodicals in English, Urdu, Persian and Arabic languages published in India and abroad.

He regularly attends international religious seminars and forums. He took part in the work of the conference devoted to the destiny of children in developing countries, Abu-Dhabi; workshop on the issues of modern Islam, Islamabad; the conference on research of life and creativity of Imam Bukhari, Samarkand; Regional Islamic Seminary, Khartoum.

He is keen on reading religious literature; he studies Arabic literature and history. 

Family: married and has 8 children.
