Statement of Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions K. Mami for the participants of the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions
Ladies and Gentlemen!
So, the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions has ended. As you can see, these two days are full of impressions and events.
You emphasized importance of conducting this Congress on the Plenary and Breakout Sessions yesterday. Undoubtedly, our Forum lends a weighty contribution to the promotion of a global dialogue between religions and civilizations.
The President Nursultan Nazarbayev in his statement before the Congress participants yesterday noted, that the Congresses significantly favored the world in not falling down in “clash of civilizations” abyss.
Indeed, outstanding representatives of different religions and religious movements have approached each other and established caregiving relationships within our Forum. Sermons, blessings, good wishes and thoughts of prominent representatives of religions, stated in talks and dialogues during the Forum, fly throughout the world. Thus, roots of mutual respect and understanding between different religious communities date back to long ago. This is, in its turn, a beginning of triumph of peace and concord all over the world.
Religious Leaders Council is formed within the Congress, which is a sign of development and extension of the Forum.
Members of the Religious Leaders Council took part in the opening ceremony of “Rukhani Zharasym” (Spiritual Consent) Alley near the Triumphal Arch “Mangilik Yel” (Eternal Nation), planted there seedlings. We do hope that these young plants growing deeply into the soil tomorrow will be lofty trees. I believe that you with your family will visit Astana not once and warmly call current Congress to mind under the shade of the trees on this alley.
Today the Congress participants have visited unveiling of the famine memorial, what Kazakhstan came through 80 years ago. They also visited a museum-complex, located on the territory of former prison camp “ALZHIR”. In such a way they said a prayer for the spirits of innocent sufferers and paid the tribute to the memory of them.
“Kind words are a start for good acts” a Kazakh wisdom says. The Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which originated from the initiative of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev and keeps on working thanks to your good wishes and blessings, your hard work, took its rightful place on the international scene. Today all the world community pays regard to the Congress in order to hear your valuable advice-guidance and follow your example.
On this occasion I would like to thank members of the Religious Leaders Council, the first meeting of which was yesterday, speakers of the plenary sessions, moderators and break-out sessions’ spokesmen, who deliver success of the Forum.
Let me express my sincere gratitude for your overwhelming work and efforts. I wish all of you strong health, happiness and wellbeing. Let your sermons and blessed rites always find the way to people’s hearts and contribute to peace and concord all over the world!
