5. Head of the united commandment of IRI Military Forces, from 1980 to 1988;

6. Chairman of the Military Propaganda Headquarters, from 1980 to 1988;

7. Minister of Culture and Islamic Orientation, IRI, 1989;

8. Advisor to the President H.Rafsanjani on culture issues, 1992;

9. Head of the National Library of Iran;

10. President of IRI from May 1997; re-elected for the second term in 2001. In 2005 after termination of his powers retired.
