Birth Date:   20 November 1940

Birth Place:   Mumbai (India)

Education:   He has Master's degree in oriental languages and literature at Harvard University and the PhD at Bombay University

Professional Activity:

1978 - 1980  Lecturer at the Asian Institute and Shiraza University in Iran. During many years he was lecturing and conducting studies on Zoroastrianism in Bombay;

1980-1993  Travelled and gave lectures;

1993 - 1994   Lecturer at the Asian and African Language and Culture Study Institute at Tokyo University;

1995 - 1997   Employee at the inter-religious organization "United Initiative of Religions";

1998-2003   Founder and President of the World Zarathusti Cultural Foundation at Bombay.

For the first time in the history of Parsi Studies, he introduced the tradition of burying the corpses by means of solar concentrators. He took part in more than 38 international conferences abroad. He is an international consultant at the international inter-religious Oxford Centre and is a member of the Council of chairmen of the inter-religious and international peace federation in the whole world (New-York). He is also a member of the international council of the global conference of the world religion (New-York) and the international council of the international association of religious freedom (Oxford).

In July 2004 H.Dhalla was elected as a member of the consultancy council of the Parliament of world religions in Barcelona. During the session of this Council he made a proposal on establishment of the educational ecologic program at one of the schools in India where children from all the world religions could study.

He is the author of several books on Zoroastrianism history in India.

Family: married, has a son and a daughter
