Speech of Phra Dharmakosajarn, Rector of the Mahachula university (Thailand)

Mr. Chairman,

Firstly, on behalf of the Supreme Council of Thailand Committee and me, personally, I'd like to congratulate you, His Excellency President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, for the organization of this Congress. It is a very important meeting, which has drawn attention of all the public.

At the II Congress we intend to focus our work on the convocation of the next forum. We have already made a good contribution to the development of the dialogue. Religious leaders talked much about their dreams, expectations. We discussed different matters, including cold war, peace in the world. We also expect the positive results of this Forum.I believe that we could make an attempt to discuss the initiatives of not only religious but political leaders. And it gives us hope.

We expect good results of this inter-religious dialogue, because we strive to make the world better, there shouldn't be any aggression, conflicts.

Today we were talking about the world safety as well as about mutual safety. And mutual safety can't be achieved by only one nation, one country.
We must unite and be together so that people sitting here might enhance the role of religious leaders within the framework of ensuring national safety.

The conception of national safety is the first question and the human safety is the second.

It is appropriate to say here about our mission to protect people from poverty, illnesses. Different projects could be applied within the framework of the UN Program for Development. Religious leaders should develop this theme of safety, methods for its achievement.

The time has come to provide common safety and we should take responsibility for unity of the world. I'm calling the Forum to back up these conceptions, conclusions.

I express my opinion for the continuation of this dialogue. I support President Nazarbayev in his strivings to achieve these goals. Thank you.
